Taking the time to celebrate a life
We really don’t like to talk about death, but when it happens, organising a funeral or memorial service can be a daunting experience. We experience grief and sadness, sometimes disbelief and sometimes relief. Sometimes a life has been long and eventful, or it may have been cut short by illness or accident at a young age.
Funerals allow people to grieve together, to comfort each other, and to say goodbye to a loved one. My role as a Picaluna funeral celebrant is to create a service that celebrates your loved one's life with dignity and respect, and at the same time, reflect who they were, how they lived and the values they held. And what a privilege that is for me.
Yesterday we said goodbye to our beautiful mother, on behalf of my brothers and sisters we would like to thank the wonderful Sharon Swinbourne and the staff at Picaluna Beautiful Funerals who went above and beyond to provide a service that our mum truly deserved. Sharon, the care and compassion you showed our family will never be forgotten and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
