Philip Holland lives on the Northern Beaches and has been a Funeral Celebrant for 16 years and a Funeral Director for the last five years. Throughout Philip’s working life his skills have always been in customer service. After 15 years in the travel industry, he became a marriage celebrant and, the following year, performing funerals as well seemed like a natural progression.
Since moving to the Anzac Village retirement community in Narrabeen in 2016 these skills have proved invaluable. As well as volunteering in the village helping the elderly residents to overcome their fears of the internet and mobile phones, he also devotes time to driving them around Sydney when necessary.
Philip is excited by Picaluna’s vision of a new, family-friendly way of handling life transitions and this has become the most rewarding work of his life. Families he has looked after have become friends and looking after them is what he lives for.
Philip welcomes calls from families making preparations for their loved ones and encourages them to meet him before the need becomes urgent.
If you would like to meet for a chat about your options give Philip a call on 0414 450 460 or visit his website at www.narrabeenfunerals.com.au for more information.
“My 31-year-old son passed away tragically and unexpectedly 2 weeks ago. We were recommended to contact Philip Holland at Picaluna Funerals. I cannot praise his professionalism, kindness and empathy highly enough. Our son was given a tribute and farewell fitting to him, Philip was beside us all the way. His care was over and above, replying immediately to any questions we had at all hours of the day and night, organising every minute detail to our satisfaction. I have in the past organised quite a few funerals…….how different the whole experience has been with Philip. He is a true and sincere gentleman and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.” – SUE C
