About the Service

Since birth Lucy has always been a beautiful wild free spirit and artist, she believed all Life was a form of art. Throughout life Lucy displayed infinite compassion and loyalty to those she loved and cared for. Her intelligence, street smarts, humanity and her cheeky nature were infectious. Her humour and wit contagious, Lucy had the ability to make  people laugh. and laugh hard. Lucy's wilfulness and creative style allowed her to be true to herself and her beliefs. Lucy always felt a peacefulness when  surrounded by nature and animals.

To celebrate and honour Lucy we have been gifted the privilege of gathering together in a beautiful outdoor space under a magical red angophora tree.  Please bring your reverence and tread lightly in this special, sacred place.

For our time together we will experience two ceremonies with the wake / festival of life in the middle.

1-2pm - Memories of Lucy

The ceremony to honour Lucy's life and her unique spirit, begins at 1pm.  During this time we will come together as one and share our grief through an open mike. Everyone will have the opportunity to honour Lucy through speaking, song, dance or in any art form that feels appropriate. Unfortunately fire twirling will not be allowed due to the protected bush setting. This is a time to take care of each other.

2 -3.30pm - Wake & Decorate

We will be breaking for a time to paint and decorate Lucy's casket that she can take with her to her resting place and be at peace together in nature. We will invite everyone to add memories of Lucy to a mural artwork as a keepsake. There will be copies of this artwork available at your request. There will be refreshments including the fancy-arsed finger sandwiches that for Lucy were the height of fanciness. This is a rare opportunity for all of Lucy's diverse worlds to come together and remember and celebrate the gift of her life.

3.30 - 4pm - Floral Tribute to Shivalva

Our floral tribute will begin at 3.30pm. We ask everyone to bring a single flower of your choosing to place on Lucy's casket as we surround Lucy with our love, and set her spirit free.
