Funeral Livestreaming

In a very short period of time, Funeral Livestreaming has gone from a nice optional addition to a funeral service or memorial, to almost a necessity.

Picaluna can provide our families with sophisticated livestreaming options to broadcast a funeral service to those who cannot be at the ceremony in person.

Whether at an outdoor funeral or a funeral service at a burial or cremation, our funeral directors can advise you on the most appropriate livestreaming for your location. Our professional livestreaming service enables family and friends to join together wherever they are, to be part of the moment, and also serve as a beautiful, high-quality memorial video to download and keep.

What is livestreaming or webcasting?

A live webcast is an online video which you watch through your web browser, just like streaming a TV program.

 How can I watch?

Our webcasts can be viewed on any device – smartphones, tablets, desktop, laptops etc. You do not need to download an app or any software. Simply open up the webpage address we give you and the webcast will appear. You can also watch the livestream on your TV if you have Chromecast, Apple TV or similar.

How sophisticated is a Picaluna webcast?

Our high-quality webcasts are fully-produced, multi-camera productions shot by a professional videographer. Using a selection of different wide and close-up shots, we can capture all the elements of the ceremony clearly. We’ll make sure you see all the details, thanks to quality pictures and great audio. We are able to broadcast from almost any location, inside or outside funeral locations, using professional audio and video kit. We film compassionately and unobtrusively. It’s the closest thing possible to being there in person.

In-house Chapel livestreaming

Many crematorium chapels and some churches have upgraded their livestreaming capabilities to cater for the increased need at funeral services.  These are often co-ordinated with on-site staff who, in some cases, can integrate your slideshow and music into the webcast.  Venue capabilities in this regard can vary greatly, so please ask your Picaluna Funeral arranger about the quality of individual services.

How are Picaluna webcasts different to the standard chapel offering?

Picaluna livestreaming services are filmed by a professional videographer and our webcasts capture every moment and detail of the ceremony, wherever they are happening, at a burial, cremation or memorial service.

We can pick out the moments you need to see, capturing different shots from different angles, close-up and wide as appropriate. You’ll also hear clear audio so you won’t miss a word. We are also able to include elements that standard funeral livestreaming often cannot, including tribute slideshows, video messages and special graphics. We can also include a real-time online memorial book so viewers can interact. We include a HD video download of the ceremony afterwards as standard.

Can we leave messages for the family while we watch?

Yes. If the family request it, we can open an online memorial book on the webcast page so you may leave your memories, messages and comments for the family to read later.

Can I watch the webcast at a different time?

Yes. Our webcasts are broadcast live, but when the livestream ends, the video will be available as a recording to watch at your convenience. Webcasts are online for one month, after which they automatically go offline.

Can I download a copy of the webcast to my device?

Yes. When the webcast is over, we upload a high-resolution copy of the video to the same webpage. You can download this video in a selection of different resolutions.

What resolution do you webcast in?

Webcasts are broadcast in the best resolution and quality we can achieve on site. Livestreaming is a balance between picture quality and the data speed available at the ceremony location, which can vary for reasons outside our control. A good livestream needs a good internet connection.

What’s the backup?

Should it prove impossible to broadcast live, or should the live feed fail, we will record the ceremony and post it online as soon as possible.
