COVID-19 Health Warning

Picaluna Funerals COVID-19 Policy

As at 13th March 2020

In light of the increasing coverage of COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) in the media, Picaluna is taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of its staff, suppliers and of course, the families and congregations who attend Picaluna funerals.  Please be assured that we are keeping up to date with the current situation and we are constantly assessing the impact of any COVID-19 developments on Picaluna funerals.

We encourage our staff, suppliers, families and congregations who attend Picaluna funerals, to adhere to the advice given to prevent infections, including washing your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water, and covering your cough (in your elbow) and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. We will be providing hand sanitiser (pending availability), tissues and water at all of our funerals. All our staff and suppliers directly involved with our funerals, are briefed on the safety processes and procedures implemented at our funerals, in order to best mitigate the threat posed by COVID-19.

If you are unwell with respiratory illness, you should seek medical advice and remain at home until symptoms resolve (or self-isolate for as long as medically directed). Specific requirements including additional quarantine measures are in place for people who have returned from a country or region that is at high or moderate risk for COVID-19 or think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

If you require more information in relation to coronavirus, we encourage you to seek that information from reputable sources. The Australian Government Department of Health has a number of resources which are regularly updated, available here.

We will continue to monitor and assess the situation and its impact on future funerals. We thank you for your understanding in relation to this.

Kind regards

Greg Inglis
