Picaluna is proud to be part of the Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium Open Day on Saturday 5th November 2022.  The Open Day will be held from 10am-3pm to celebrate 100 years of Macquarie Park caring for and serving the community.

The funeral industry is often a mystery, this day gives you the opportunity to explore the different options available-whether it is a cremation with funeral service, a traditional burial, eco-friendly burial or a life celebration funeral.

You are welcome to come along to ask questions of our funeral directors in Sydney and discover more about the funeral industry and the various options available.   The day is full of interactive and interesting activities for the whole family.

The open-day activities include a display from Picaluna in the Lotus Pavilion.  The Lotus Pavilion is an ideal location for an outdoor-style funeral, surrounded by nature.

Our team of caring and friendly Picaluna Funeral Directors and Funeral Celebrants will be on-site to provide information on our services including the cost of funerals

Tours of the Cemetery are also on offer, including a tour of the new state-of-the-art Mausoleum of The Holy Way.  There will be stonemasonry and floral demonstrations.

There will be talks held on topics such as Death Doulas.  The Cemetery’s History Society will share information along with videos and photo boards.

Eco-friendly burial talks will be held along with a grave-digging display.

Beautiful displays on the day include rose pruning, an organist, Indigenous weaving, coffin wraps and various cultural traditions.

The open day is family friendly with activities on offer for children, such as pony rides, playgrounds, a kids activity tent, and lawn games set across the 145 acres of beautifully maintained grounds.

There will be a range of food stalls and complimentary scones on offer!

The program for the day begins at 10.30am with the official opening and blessing of The Mausoleum of The Holy Way followed by the All Souls’ Day Mass at 11.30am.

Throughout the day you can participate in History Tours, the Henry Mashman Tribute for the first burial that took place, eco-friendly burial displays, stonemasonry and pottery demonstrations, view vintage hearses, floral shows, cardboard coffin decorating and painting, visit stalls and displays.
